Stones in the Garden, December 14, 2012

Greetings Stonehurst Parents,

 

Stonehurst PTA would like to invite you to our first Rock Festival! Come and support Stonehurst Elementary School as we beautify our school garden with your very own designed and painted stone. Your stone will be placed in the Stonehurst Community Garden for everyone to see and admire.

 

If you haven't pre-purchased your stone, it's not too late! Please be sure to stop by the school office and complete the Stones Order Form, along with your payment. Pre-sale of the stones have been extended until Wednesday, December 12th. Stones are only $5.00 each.

 

*Please note that only a limited number of stones will be available for purchase on the day of the painting, so don't miss out.

I know its not PTA news but thought a few Stonehurst dads may be interested....

CASTING SINGLE DADS FOR TV SHOW PILOT!

We are searching NATIONWIDE for awesome SINGLE DADS who are raising a child (or children) between the ages of 8-15 on your own, to be part of a new TV docu-series for a major cable network.

Being a single parent is simultaneously one of the most challenging and rewarding jobs out there.

So if you're a fun-loving, charismatic, hard-working single dad who manages to keep their sense of humor in the face of the challenges that single parenting presents, we want to hear from you!

Shooting will take place in early 2013. Dads will be compensated for their time, 3-4 days of shooting in early January.

There is compensation if you're selected to be on the show!

Friday Nov 2, Stonehurst Movie night & Silenct Auction

Friday November 2nd, starting at 6pm, Stonehurst Elementary will be holding its annual movie night a little earlier in the season. This years' movie is "Monsters Inc" and get there early because we all know how competitive the bidding gets with these baskets.  The school will have dinner and movie snacks on sale. So bring your cash, your folding chairs, thick blankets and warm outer gear and join the Stonehurst community on the field for a little movie watching.

DONT FORGET TO stop by the PTA table, sign up and join our family organization and support our school!  We could definitely use your help and support!!!

Our library needs volunteers!!!

Hello Parents-If you were not aware Stonehurst no longer has a librarian, budget cuts.  The Library could use some week day volunteers to help us keep the library organized, check in and out books when classrooms come to check out books, merge in new books...whatever is required.  We have numerous volunteer spots available.  Especially if you can volunteer on an on-going basis.
